At the time I’m writing this, it’s National Hat Day, an annual event on January 15th.
It’s the first I’ve heard of National Hat Day — and I seldom wear an actual hat — but I guess it’s an okay way to spend a 15th of the month. A lot of people have a payday today, so that’s good. And I guess it’s better than March 15 (if you’re Julius Caesar) … And I know it’s better than April 15th (unless you’re an accountant).
While I’m not up on the latest hat-wearing fashion trends, I do wear a lot of “hats” in my day-to-day life. From husband and father to designer and business owner, I stay busy!
This site is (mostly) about marketing and “design that sells” tips for business growth. I provide design solutions for social media managers, entrepreneurs and small business owners. Stuff like social media graphics, Facebook timeline cover images, Twitter profile design images, perfect Pinterest pins, etc. If you haven’t grabbed my free ebook, Seven “Design That Sells” Tips for Business Success yet, now would be the perfect time. Or, you can connect via your favorite social media network.
I’m also Marketing Director at HelloScent.com, our family Scentsy business my wife, Jes, started. It began as a *little something to do* on the side but it quickly grew to more. I got on board, helping her behind the scenes with social media marketing, content creation and blog writing at HelloScent.com. Now, she’s an Independent Director with Scentsy Family (it’s 3 businesses in one, actually) and the whole family loves it. We can work as much or as little as we want at the business, fitting everything around our family schedule. Follow the fun at Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.
Together, Jes and I run WildSageHomestead.com. We haven’t updated it as much lately, but we have some new plans in the works for 2013, including an overall site redesign. This venture started out as a fun place to showcase our family’s happenings, beliefs and adventures in raising chickens and learning all we can about homesteading. We are in the process of renovating our soon-to-be new home, with future plans of building a new chicken coop, planting a new garden and more. The adventures have just begun! Follow Wild Sage Homestead on Facebook or Twitter.
Of course, there’s more about me on the appropriately-titled ABOUT ROB page on this very site. And I invite you follow any or all these adventures played out (almost) daily on the various social media sites linked above.

I love a ballcap on a ‘bad hair’ day! I too wear many hats on a daily basis and love the way you spun your story through this blog. I’m sure many can relate to the concept of wearing multiple hats on many levels. Happy New Year. Wishing you and yours much success in the New Year!

Excellent post, Rob! I have never heard of National Hat Day and love how you transition the story about the day to the many hats you wear. You do have a lot of hats to wear! I am looking forward to reading your ebook!
